It Pays to Increase Your Word Power

In last night's Planet Algol campaign session, inspired by my own musing on polysyllabic vocabulary and some of the mechanics of The Dying Earth RPG, the Bone Man Sorcerer Dickie Dee received 50 bonus experience points for use of the word "Imbroglio" in a conversation with the other characters.
